Sweet Tea & Lemonade!

Saturday was the 2nd Hart reunion. It was a perfect day--great breeze--good food (all prepared by the hostess)--lots of laughs and my favorite Sweet Tea and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade. I saw this idea in a magazine ?? and thought this would be a great time to try it out! I took a dozen jars of tea and a dozed jars of lemonade. They were all drank and no broken jars--Yay!!

Quilt Show & Izzy

I got to go to the Quilt Show in Paducah on Saturday--considering all the flood waters, the relocation of the quilts the vendors and tourists I had a great time. A Co-worker Micki and I went. It was her first quilt show! She jumped in with both feet and came away with a template and enough fabric to make her first quilt top! She treated me to a new friend name Izzy--a wonderful & colorful Sock-Monkey who is now overlooking me while I work.

I came away with a smaller version of the template that Micki got, 3 sizes of ruler gripers and a new apron pattern. Here is a pic of the one on display

Maybe this pattern will be perfect for my next apron swap!

Heartfelt Thanks!

I received a wonderful package.
Everything came sacked up in an ever so cute bag that will be perfect for my tanning bed supplies that stay in the back of my vehicle.
I have a new favorite apron hanging in the kitchen--notice the crocheted hearts on the pockets (great job).

I can't bear to put the heart shaped potholders(that match my apron) or the crocheted dishrags in the drawer yet. There were sprinkles to eat & tea to drink. A very cool Hatter Button and an iron-on to claim my status as "Queen of Hearts"

I have already used the little gift tags to make 2 sets of Thank You cards. One for me and the other I will be sending to Sherry as my special way of saying "Thank You"

Cake Slice Boxes!

I finally finished my Cake Slice Boxes! This is going to be a anniversary gift for a friend's 50th celebration. I purchased this tutorial from Kay Sha, you can check out her blog here . I wanted to surprise her and make the flowers in her wedding colors, so I contacted her Daughter-In-Law, she did not know but thought maybe her Maid of Honor would. SoI called her, but she did not remember then I called her Daughter well guess what??? she had no idea. I gave up and called the bride, after a brief hesitation :) she said "Pink"
